Diana is a  Mississauga Master Gardener and editor for the Ontario Rock Garden and Hardy Plant Society’s newsletter.  She frequently speaks to horticultural audiences on subjects ranging from wildlife in the garden, to grasses and perennials.  Over the past 20 years, Diana has been perfecting techniques in growing plants from seed.  This evening Diana will share some of those techniques with us.

David Tarrant Profile
David Tarrant

David Tarrant was born in England in 1943 where he trained as an apprentice gardener to receive his City and Guilds Diploma in General Horticulture.

 

 Immigrating to Canada in 1967, he went on to become Head Gardener at Chateau Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies.

 

 David joined the staff of UBC's Botanical Garden in 1969, where he stayed until retiring to San Miguel de Allende five years ago. For 17 years he was the host of the popular CBC television show 'The Canadian Gardener' and in 2004 David hosted `Spring` a gardening series which aired on HGTV.

 

 David`s four books and numerous articles for horticultural publications were recognized in 2000 as he was awarded Fellow of the Year Award from the Garden Writers Association.

A highly respected horticutural expert and mentor to thousands of Canadian gardeners.  David is always in demand as a public speaker both across Canada and internationally.  His charm and quick wit make for a delightful yet informative presentation.
